Beijing OriginWater Technology Co., Ltd. (BOW) is a high-tech enterprise located in Zhongguancun Science Park (Z-Park), and was founded in 2001 by overseas returned scholars. BOW dedicates its independently developed and industry leading membrane technology to solve China’s three main water issues: water pollution, water scarcity, and drinking water insecurity, while striving to provide a one stop solution for the construction of a perfect urban ecological environment. Since being listed in Shenzhen Stock Exchange GEM in 2010, the net assets of BOW has exceeded 23 billion Yuan. In 2020, China Urban- Rural Holding Group Co., LTD., a wholly-owned subsidiary of CCCC, starts holding of BOW.BOW utilizes its innovative spirit in order to become a leading thinker in the Chinese environmental protection industry, while focusing on the major three drivers of innovation which are technological innovation, business model innovation, and management systems innovation. By focusing on these drivers BOW plans on developing into one of the world’s largest membrane technology companies with the most complete industrial chain in the membrane

industry, as well as one of China’s leaders in environmental protection within the water and wastewater treatment industry. BOW is quickly on its way to becoming one of the most famous brands and possessing the highest market value of any enterprise with headquarters located in Z-Park, which is China’s largest scientific and innovation center.

BOW is quickly on its way to becoming one of the most famous brands and possessing the highest market value of any enterprise with headquarters located in Z-Park, which is China’s largest scientific and innovation center.

BOW has built Asia’s largest Membrane R&D center, which is located in Beijing’s Huairou District. The core technologies researched here include microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (DF), reverse osmosis (RO), membrane bioreactor (MBR), membrane bioreactor - nanofiltration (MBR-DF),Intelligent Compact Wastewater Treatment System (ICWT) and integrated urban wastewater purification membrane technology, which are all independently developed and wholly owned intellectual property of BOW. Currently, BOW’s annual product capacity can achieve ten million square meters of MF and UF membranes, six million square meters of DF and RO membranes and one million units of water purification equipment.

Using this center BOW has developed technology suited to handle almost all segments of the water and wastewater treatment industrial chain, including: municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, drinking water treatment, desalination, civil water treatment, wetland protection and reconstruction, sponge cities, river management, black and odorous water treatment, urban landscape construction , light environment construction , solid waste and hazardous waste treatment and disposal, among others.

BOW has participated in the treatment of Taihu Watershed, Chaohu Watershed, Dianchi Watershed, Erhai Watershed, Danjiangkou water source for the South to North Water Diversion Project, as well as many other projects for environmentally sensitive basins. BOW has also successfully completed thousands of water treatment projects, hundreds of national environmental projects, and completed the construction of dozens of underground water reclamation plants and national wetland parks.

Accounting for over 70% of China’s membrane water treatment market, BOW processes nearly 20 million tons of water per day, and produces nearly seven billion tons of high quality recycled water for the nation every year. BOW has already built tens of thousands of their self-developed CWT stations in China. Currently, BOW is diligently participating in the National Belt and Road Program while actively breaking into the international market.

As the first environmental protection enterprise to utilize the PPP mode during its developing stages, BOW has since set up hundreds of PPP joint ventures and projects in China. Among these, BOW worked with Yunnan Urban Construction Investment to establish the joint venture Yunnan Water Affair Investment Limited Liability Co., Ltd, which became the first listed enterprise under the PPP mode in China. BOW also formed a partnership with Wuhan Holdings in order to setup the joint venture Wuhan Sanzhen, which was the first listed water industry company cooperation model established using the PPP mode. Furthermore, BOW teamed up with Kunlun Environmental Protection Agency in Urumqi, landing the first domestic asset securitization PPP project.

The innovative significance of BOW’s participation in the growth of PPP mode partnerships has been highly regarded by China’s Ministry of Finance. Furthermore, a number of BOW’s senior managers were selected by the PPP expert library of the NDRC and China’s Ministry of Finance to serve as specialists of PPP mode management and regulations, and they have made a very positive contribution to the healthy and orderly development of China’s PPP cause.

Since being listed, BOW achieves an average annual compound growth rate of more than 50% and is continually favored in the capital market. BOW has obtained comprehensive credit extension from China Development Bank, CITIC Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and China Construction Bank, totaling nearly a hundred billion Yuan. BOW has strong financing ability and financial strength, and is the main sponsor and the second-largest shareholder of Zhongguancun Bank which is the first privately-owned bank founded in Beijing.

BOW invests nearly 10% of net profit attributable to the parent company into research and development each year, employs nearly 1000 research specialists and has developed close to 500 patents. BOW has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and the first prize of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award several times, as well as many other honors. BOW has undertaken many national research projects such as the “National Major Water Project,” the “863 Project” and the “National Science and Technology Support Plans.”

In order to accelerate the growth of water treatment technology BOW has established and constructed many academic partnerships and R&D centers such as building an academician expert workstation, a postdoctoral workstation and a national engineering technology Center. BOW has jointly established R&D centers with Tsinghua University, University of New South Wales and other universities. Also, BOW founded the first Torch Innovation Park outside of China, the Torch Innovation Park of the University of New South Wales in Australia, and led the formation of the MBR Industrial Technology Innovation New Strategic Alliance, the Innovation Strategic Alliance of Water Processing Membrane Materials and Equipment Technology, as well as many other partnerships.

By adhering to the company tenet of bearing social responsibility and building an ecological civilization, BOW will make a positive contribution to the treatment and protection of the water environment, develop new water sources and guarantee the safety of drinking water and urban ecological environments through continuous technological innovation and the perfection of the industrial chain, while globally highlighting the enormous innovative power of Chinese enterprises.
