Details
The origin of Nestle Group can be traced back to 1866. The founder of Nestle, a chemist living in Switzerland, Mr. Henri Nestle, successfully saved the life of an infant who was malnourished due to insufficient breast milk with his scientific mixing of milk and wheat flour. Mr. Henri Nestle formally founded Nestle in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Geneva. From then on, created the 100-year history of Nestle company.
"Nestle" means "little bird's nest". As the symbol of Nestle, the warm bird's nest is well known and loved by consumers. It represents the philosophy of Nestle: care, safety, nature and nutrition. As the world's largest food company, Nestle adheres to the philosophy and principles of people-oriented and quality-oriented, providing quality food and bringing a better life to consumers around the world.
Today, Nestle adheres to the concepts and principles of our ancestors, putting people first and products first. We try our best to understand the needs of consumers around the world, and how to better serve consumers in different stages of life, with different lifestyles and cultural backgrounds, so that our products can be loved by them.
Nestle has always attached great importance to the quality of products. More than 140 years of experience in the field of food manufacturing, the pursuit of the latest nutrition and food processing technology, the use of high-quality raw materials, the application of the highest technology equipment, high-quality staff and huge investment in research and development, all these guarantee the high quality of Nestle products.
In the past 15 years, Nestle's direct investment in Greater China from Switzerland has reached RMB 7 billion. Nestle operates 20 factories in China. In 2001, Nestle established a research and development center in Shanghai, dedicated to the use of technology and nutrition research, as well as the development of affordable and nutritious food suitable to the tastes of Chinese consumers. In October 2008, Nestle built a new research and development center in Beijing, aiming to bring high-quality and economical food integrating Chinese and Western to meet the special nutritional needs of Chinese consumers, bring a steady flow of "high-quality food" to Chinese people, and realize the great vision of "better life"
Nestle's annual sales volume reaches more than 47.7 billion US dollars, of which about 9% Nestle comes from food sales. Therefore, Nestle is the world's largest food manufacturer and one of the largest multinational companies. The company is well known for its chocolate bars and instant coffee, and has a wide range of products suited to local markets and cultures.
Nestle has more than 500 factories in more than 80 countries on five continents. All products are produced and sold by more than 200 departments under the leadership of the headquarters. With 98% of its sales coming from abroad, Nestle is known as "the most international multinational group".
In the mid-19th century, Henry, a scholarly food technician in Switzerland. Henri Nesti, the inventor of a child-rearing dairy product in which fructose and nutrients were added to powdered milk, was an excellent child-rearing food at the time, but it was produced in small quantities, and Nesti still did most of his scientific work.
In 1865, a friend told Nestel that the babies who drank his formula grew up healthy, changing the infants' milk free habits and relieving mothers of their sorrows. After hearing this, Nestel finally founded the Nursery Milk Powder Company in 1867, with his name Nestle as the brand name of its products and a bird's nest pattern as the trademark graphic. Because the English word "Nest" and his name share the same root, it is translated into Chinese as "Nestle". In fact, Nestle means "to settle down comfortably" and "snuggle"; The Nestle figure naturally reminds people of a loving mother feeding her baby. Therefore, "Nestle" baby milk powder sales have been very good.
In 1905, Nestle Baby Milk Powder Company merged with another food company run by Americans and was named Nestle Yingrui Condensed Milk Company. In 1949, it was purchased by another Swiss company and renamed Nestle Food Company. In the early 20th century, the company began to diversify production, and acquired and established enterprises all over the world, becoming the world's largest food manufacturer, with branches in more than 20 countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and more than 1200 factories and businesses, and the headquarters is located in Vevey, Switzerland. In 1990, the company's sales reached 33.3 billion US dollars, the main products are instant coffee, condensed milk, milk powder, baby food, cheese, chocolate products, candy, instant tea and other 10 kinds. Among them, Nestle coffee has the largest sales volume, mainly because of its excellent product quality, and the brand name makes consumers really feel "comfortable" and "snuggling" when drinking. In 1991, according to the survey results of Landone Company, Nestle coffee was listed as one of the world's top 10 famous brands, and its brand value was determined to be 11.549 billion dollars in 1994.
